The inquiry is paradoxical
The inquiry that leads to awakening is paradoxical. We yearn for precise instructions, but awakening cannot be grasped through technique alone. It’s about finding that delicate balance where intention dissolves into surrender. No effort of the individual self can force it, for only Life awakens itself.
Our task is to remain deeply open - to hold space for the unknown, allowing awareness to be what it already is. The mind constantly seeks to define and conclude: ‘This isn’t it, that isn’t it.’ Yet every doubt is a fleeting thought. If we see this clearly, the thought fades, and something more fundamental remains: the aware presence that is untouched by any mental activity.
What is this presence that observes thoughts without being altered by them? What is this self-illuminating awareness that shines both in thought and in stillness? When we inquire into this, we are not searching for an answer. The answer is the pure, direct experience of Being.
The key is to remain alert yet relaxed, continually letting go of all mental constructs, until consciousness itself reveals the truth beyond words - truth more real than anything the mind could comprehend. Surrender to this, and Life will take care of the rest.
